Two words - Nelson DeMille. His two latest books Nightfall and Wildfire are gut wrenching. I enjoy Cornwell, Silva, Dan Brown and am looking forward to Ken Follett's sequel to Pillars of the Earth, but Wilbur and Demille are 1st and 2nd and it isn't close for 3rd.

I recently discovered Nelson DeMille. I particularly enjoyed "The Lion's Game" and the sequel "The Lion". I got somewhat tired of the main character's (John Corey) constant wise cracking but the plot is very good and is timely.
