I can thoroughly recommend the Poldark novels. Winston Graham wrote the first one in 1945 and the 12th and last in 2002.
They are historical novels set in the time of the French Revolution in Cornwall with plenty of romance too. The first one is good and they just get better. As soon as I got to the end I started over again. Then I got the dvds of the 2 TV series which deal with the first 7 books. They were very good too although the story was changed quite a lot. If you enjoy a long family saga give it a go.

I remember the Poldark series! We watched it on TV when we were kids, it was a weekly series in Spain. We loved the characters and story, kept us glued to the TV. And I fondly remember each episode used to end with a HUGE cliffhanger that made sure we will be there next week for the next installment.

I didn’t know new novels were still being published in recent years.

Thanks Irene!
